Istria300 Dawn Patrol Goes International – First Ride in Klagenfurt Marks the Start of Expansion

The popular Istria300 Dawn Patrol, held every Thursday morning at 5:30 AM since 2024 at the Bike Center in front of the Valamar Parentino Hotel in Poreč, is breaking new ground: the first phase of international expansion has begun.
For the past four weeks, the successful format has also been offered in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee – in collaboration with the Schwimmaktiv Club. Since then, early risers have been gathering every Thursday for a relaxed group ride of up to two hours. Everyone is welcome – regardless of fitness level – as there are multiple riding groups.
“With Klagenfurt, we launched a pilot location to better understand the challenges and opportunities of expanding the Dawn Patrol,” explains Istria300 organizer Julius Rupitsch. “The initial feedback has been very positive. There is great interest in the community concept, and participation has almost increased eightfold within just four weeks.” Among the participants also Alexander Payer, the snowboard professional, has been spotted.
Starting next year, the Istria300 Dawn Patrol will be introduced in other Austrian provinces as well. Plans are also underway to expand into the Slovenian and Croatian markets.
The goal of this expansion is to further strengthen the growing Istria300 community’s connection to the event and the brand. At the same time, Valamar aims to accelerate its dynamic growth in the cycling sector and sustainably increase overnight stays. A key focus is on enhancing the position of the Bike Center Poreč as a leading hub for cycling enthusiasts.
The Dawn Patrol stands not only for cycling together but also for a strong sense of community, motivation, and an active start to the day.
